Happy X-Mas

Happy X-Mas to all of my friend(s) all over the world. Gosh it's been quite a year at the ole "Hunter" flat. It seems like five minutes ago it was December 2003, and now it's nearly January 2005! Oy vehy!

There is still no NHL hockey, the season currently being in the 78th or 79th day of the lock out, but the Spengler Cup is currently underway in Europe, ant that tournament is chock full of NHL millionaires playing the game for next to nothing compared to what they were getting here... oh well at least Chelsea is still on top of the premireship.

We moved onto a new place in May after being kicked out of our quiet little place in Mission because the billionaires that owned the place (and at least five other buildings in the neighborhood) wanted to make even more money (how much is enough for these people?) so they did some slight renovations to the place and made them into $150,000 condos. We live in a bigger place now in Sunalta on the very busy, very loud 11th avenue SW. Sure it's a bigger and better place, but it's not in Mission goddammit!

Over the past year I've managed to send out samples of the first book to twelve publishers, only one of whom has bothered to send me a rejection note. So I will say this: even though you don't want to pick up my work, thanks Arsenal Pulp Press for at least having the stones to reply to me, and let me know that no one wants to read about single young males humorously struggling to find themselves.

Anyway, I'm working for the evil NortelNetworks now, well not really for them, as they don't hire anyone but underpaid contractors through an agency anymore, but I'm working nonetheless. Oh yeah, I hate it and I find it hard to actually get any REAL work (ie writing) done.

Well thats all for now as my back is killing me from not having a proper desk chair to sit in. So Happy New year to all! And to all a good week!

Joe Hunter
